Today we all know that whole world is fighting thorough a major disease Covid-19 caused by virus called SARS-Cov-2 But before going to detailed information of this we need to know about viruses.

What is a virus ??

Virus is a submicroscopic organism which replicates only in living organism. They are smaller than bacteria and can pass through bacteria proof filters. Generally they have ssRna present in them. There size is about 300nm * 20nm. Main source of a virus coming in human body is mostly an animal

What is corona virus and its origin ?

Corona is not actually the name of virus but it is the name given to group of virus. In the earlier stage when it was found it was named as nCov (novel corona virus) because it was such a new virus that scientist can’t even think of its name. but now its name is SARS-CoV-2 because it is similar to that of SARS virus.

SARS-CoV-2 look just as picture given below -:

This virus was found 1st time on 31st December 2019 in Wuhan, China. Scientist think that it has come to human from bats just as SARS virus, but some think that is has come from snake.

Disease caused by corona virus, its symptoms.

Disease caused by this virus is known as Covid-19. This disease has symptoms similar to common cold like running nose,fever,sneezing etc.
That is why laboratory test are done for the confirmation of this disease.It is difficult to distinguish between common cold and Covid-19 as their symptoms are same and in extreme condition of Covid-19 this can also causePneumonia (respiratory disease).

How is Covid-19 transmitted and its incubation period.

Covid-19 is caused by coming in contact with the person already affected by SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is transmitted by body fluids which come out of infected person while sneezing or coughing.
Incubation period -: Its incubation is around 7-11 days i.e if you are infected with Covid-19 its symptom will be shown in 7-11 days.

Some Important points -:

1. A person having common cold can infect average 6 person but a person having Covid-19 can infect an average 8.5 person.
2. Death ratio of this virus is around 2%. Therefore its recovery rate is quite high.
3. Scientist say that the virus are less contagious. Ebola – Its mortality rate was 70% which was which spread easily very high

Impact of Corona on world -:

Due to corona pandemic every country is facing a lot of trouble. World wide lockdown have been announced. Labours are continuously loosing their jobs. People are starving of food and due to lockdown they are not able to go their home back as not transport are available. Every country is facing a huge economic crisis and are thinking of solution to come out it.
Millions and millions of money is being given to the research centers for the vaccine of this horrible disease. Small scale industries are suffering a lot due to this pandemic. People are starving for the staple food of the country because resources are not being reached to those needy.

Prevention from corona virus -:

1. Proper washing of hands for about 45-50 seconds.

2. Unnecessarily do not move out of the house

3. Wear mask while going to public places

4. sneezing use tissue or While handkerchief, if not available bring your elbow close to your nose and then sneeze so that the body fluids do not transfer from one person to another.

5. Proper sanitation of hand as well as house at regular interval of time.

6. No need to touch your eyes and mouth with your hand without sanitizing them.

Cure of Covid-19 -:

The cure for Covid-19 is not found till date. Many research companies are working on it. Its cure now is only prevention. So follow the preventions given above and stay safe.
